While I might not be the exact target audience for this book, I did really enjoy it. “10x is Easier Than 2x” is targeted toward entrepreneurs, and does mostly frame the concepts it discuss in terms of growing a business. However, the concepts to have broader applications for any area of your life where you’re looking for more. The core idea is that 80% of your efforts and attention don’t end up producing as much for you as your best 20% – so ditch that 80%. Get focused in on setting big goals based on that 20% and get exponential growth with less overall effort than if you kept trying to grind out more by working harder at that 80%. I think an alternate title for this book could have been “Work Harder, Not Smarter 2.0.”

It makes me think, what is 80% to be scrapped and my 20% to be focused on? I may not be looking at building a client base or growing the revenue of my business, but there are absolutely other areas of like where I want to see 10x improvement. Could I not just beat my personal but running times by a few seconds, but my a few minutes? I may not own the business, but I own my role in it, so could I get 10x more productive at my job? Could I be a 10x better father? A 10x better husband?
If you’re looking to get more out of your time, effort, and life in general, it is worth a read. If you’re looking to start your own business, or already have, I would say it is a must read.
